Meet the Artistic Director:

Jane McLaughlin, also known as the charismatic “Miss Cookie,” is a dynamic artist whose work inspires others to explore and express themselves through theatrical storytelling. In October 2008, she launched the very first ghost walk tour in Woodbridge, New Jersey, which laid the foundation for Haunted History Productions. What began as a local event has since expanded into a thriving entertainment company with a strong presence across the state of New Jersey.

Drawing on her background as a dance school owner, Jane creatively incorporated students and parents into the tours, casting them as historical figures in immersive, educational performances. With her own vibrant character, Miss Cookie, at the forefront, these tours grew to become a beloved community tradition.

Over the past fifteen years, Haunted History Productions has evolved into a multifaceted enterprise, employing a cast of over twenty actors and captivating audiences in towns throughout New Jersey. Jane’s vision extended well beyond ghost tours—her productions now include Murder Mystery Dinner Shows and Interactive Storybook Readings, offering unique, family-friendly entertainment rooted in history, imagination, and local culture.

Through her entrepreneurial spirit, artistic collaborations, and community involvement, Jane McLaughlin has turned a single ghost walk into a statewide legacy of performance, education, and enchantment.
